Gas boiler replacement in Ireland typically costs between €2,300 and €4,900 fully fitted. Most straightforward like for like swaps land between €2,800 and €3,500 including VAT, based on current market pricing.
Your exact price depends on a handful of factors rather than a flat rate. Here is how each one moves the figure.
Combi models usually cost the least to fit, while system and regular boilers sit higher
Larger homes need higher kW output, which raises the unit price
Reusing existing pipework keeps costs down, while alterations add labour
Sludge or poor circulation may call for a power flush before installation
Higher end models cost more upfront and carry longer manufacturer warranties
Every Cortech quote covers labour, pipework, valves, and the materials required by law, set out in writing before work begins. You know the full figure upfront, and it does not change on the day.

Massive thank you to Ben from Cortech who came for an emergency call out to find my wedding ring. Didn’t need any plumbing work thankfully as he found it in about 10 seconds by figuring out what had happened - a very logical approach. Left me feeling silly, but very grateful. Thanks so much!Posted on Google![]()

I had a shower unit locked open with water flowing for a couple of hours and needed a call out. Found Cortech on Google and rang them about 9.30 am on a Friday morning. The service man, a really helpful guy called Ben was here in 40 mins and sorted the problem immediately. He also helped me find a company who had a replacement unit and parts. From my initial call, to job completed ( including help with finding replacement unit ) took 45 mins. The speed and efficiency of the service, plus the really pleasant manner in which I was dealt with was a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend Cortech Plumbing.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified that these reviews were published on Cortech Plumbing's Google Business Profile. Learn more
Boiler type shapes both your price and your day to day comfort. Our engineers assess your home before recommending a size and model, and if mains gas is not the right fit we also install electric boilers in Dublin.
Combi boilers heat water on demand with no cylinder or tank, which frees up storage space. They suit apartments and smaller Dublin homes with one bathroom, and are usually the most affordable type to install.
System boilers store hot water in a cylinder, so several taps and showers can run at once. They suit family homes with two or more bathrooms where hot water demand runs high in the mornings.
Regular boilers work with the tanks and cylinders found in many older Dublin properties. They make sense where the existing setup is sound, keeping installation simple.
From first call to final certificate, the process stays simple and clear.
We listen to your needs, assess your current system, and give honest advice with no obligation.
You receive a fixed written quote covering the full job, so you know the cost before work begins.
Our engineers remove the old unit and fit your new boiler, with most swaps completed in a single day.
We test and commission the system, tidy up, and issue the certificate that confirms your installation is safe and compliant.
Repairs make sense on younger boilers, but past the 12 to 15 year mark the sums usually tip towards replacement.
Frequent faults and repeat callouts are the clearest sign a boiler is near the end. Repair bills add up fast on an ageing unit.
Old boilers lose efficiency year on year, so the same heating costs you more each winter. Modern A rated units burn far less fuel for the same warmth.
Kettling, banging, or whistling points to sludge, scale, or failing parts inside the unit. Noises that keep returning after repairs signal deeper wear.
Rooms that never fully warm up, or radiators cold at the bottom, often mean the boiler can no longer push heat around your home properly.

Your new boiler carries a manufacturer warranty of up to 10 years. Warranty length depends on the model you choose. We explain the options at the quote stage. Manufacturers require proof of annual servicing to keep that cover valid.
Our annual gas boiler service takes care of that. Each visit includes a flue gas analysis, a carbon monoxide check, and an official service certificate. Keep every certificate safe. Those records back up your warranty, satisfy your home insurance, and meet landlord obligations.
Cortech Plumbing is based in Tallaght and replaces gas boilers across Dublin and county. We cover major areas in Dublin, so an engineer is never far from your door.

Gas boiler replacement in Dublin typically costs between €2,300 and €4,900 fully fitted. Most like for like swaps land between €2,800 and €3,500 including VAT. Boiler type, home size, and pipework condition move the final figure, so we confirm your exact price in a free written quote.
Most gas boiler replacements finish in a single day. Straightforward like for like swaps are quickest. Jobs that involve new pipework, a flue change, or moving the boiler can take longer, and your written quote confirms the timeline before any work starts.
Usually yes. Boilers past 15 years lose efficiency, break down more often, and become harder to source parts for. Repairs still make sense on younger units with small faults. Once repair bills climb and faults repeat, replacement wins on running costs and reliability.
Combi boilers heat water on demand and need no tank, which suits apartments and smaller homes. System boilers store hot water in a cylinder, so bigger households can run several showers at once. Regular boilers work with the tanks found in older properties. Our engineers recommend the right type after a home survey.
Yes. Electric boilers suit homes without a reliable gas supply, smaller properties, and apartments where a flue is awkward. Running costs differ from gas, so the right choice depends on how you use hot water and heating. We install electric boilers across Dublin and can compare both options in your quote.
Yes. Gas boiler work in Ireland must be carried out by a Registered Gas Installer under CRU regulations. Unregistered gas work is an offence, can void the manufacturer warranty, and can cause problems with home insurance. You can check any installer on the RGI register.
Whether your gas boiler is due its yearly service, playing up, or ready to be replaced, our RGI-registered Dublin engineers can help. Fill in the form and we will come back with a clear quote, or call the 24-hour line and speak to a heating engineer now. Same-week booking across the city.
