Installing an electric boiler brings plumbing and electrical work together, and our credentials cover both sides of the job.
Our RGI registered engineers handle the safe disconnection of old gas boilers during a switch, so every changeover stays legal, safe, and fully compliant.
National Guild of Master Craftsmen membership holds our workmanship to a recognised standard, on the pipework and the finish alike.
Your free quote covers the unit, the labour, and the wiring in one figure. Nothing gets added on the day, and nothing is left vague.
Electric boiler installations need both trades. Our team covers the plumbing and the electrical connection together, so you deal with one crew and one quote.
Electric boiler installation in Dublin typically costs between €2,000 and €4,000 fully fitted, based on current market pricing across Irish installers.
Your exact price depends on a handful of factors rather than a flat rate. Here is how each one moves the figure.
Higher kW models for larger homes cost more to buy and connect
Older fuse boards sometimes need upgrading before installation
Combi style units cost less to fit than system setups with a cylinder
Reusing existing radiators and pipework keeps labour down
Sludge in radiators may call for a power flush before the new unit goes in
Every Cortech quote sets out the full figure in writing before work begins. You know the total upfront, and it does not change on the day.
Electric boilers are not the answer for every home, but for the right property they are the simplest heating upgrade available.
Electric boilers need no flue and no gas pipework, which makes them ideal for apartments where venting to an outside wall is difficult or not allowed.
Properties without a mains gas connection avoid the cost and disruption of bringing gas in. Electric units run from the supply your home already has.
Homes where the boiler position cannot vent safely outside suit electric units well, because there is no flue to route and no combustion to worry about.

Massive thank you to Ben from Cortech who came for an emergency call out to find my wedding ring. Didn’t need any plumbing work thankfully as he found it in about 10 seconds by figuring out what had happened - a very logical approach. Left me feeling silly, but very grateful. Thanks so much!Posted on Google![]()

I had a shower unit locked open with water flowing for a couple of hours and needed a call out. Found Cortech on Google and rang them about 9.30 am on a Friday morning. The service man, a really helpful guy called Ben was here in 40 mins and sorted the problem immediately. He also helped me find a company who had a replacement unit and parts. From my initial call, to job completed ( including help with finding replacement unit ) took 45 mins. The speed and efficiency of the service, plus the really pleasant manner in which I was dealt with was a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend Cortech Plumbing.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified that these reviews were published on Cortech Plumbing's Google Business Profile. Learn more
Electric boilers mainly come in two main setups in Dublin, and your hot water use decides between them.
Electric combi boilers heat water on demand with no cylinder, which suits one bathroom homes and apartments where space is tight.
Electric system boilers feed a hot water cylinder, so bigger households can run several outlets at once without the flow dropping.
Both types work with standard radiators and underfloor heating. During boiler replacement, we help you size the unit in kW to match your actual needs, so you never pay extra.
Dublin homeowners switch to electric boilers for simple reasons: no flue to route, no gas pipework to keep up. One compact unit on the wall, running from the supply your home already has.
Running costs stay part of the decision. Electricity costs more per unit than gas, and well insulated homes feel that gap least. Our engineers give you a straight answer on which setup suits your home.
But what matters the most is knowing when to switch to a new boiler. And when you switch, our RGI registered engineers disconnect and cap the old gas supply safely as part of the job.
From first call to final checks, the process stays simple and clear.
We listen to your needs, assess your current heating and electrical supply, and give honest advice with no obligation.
You receive a fixed written quote covering the full job, so you know the cost before work begins.
Our team removes the old unit, fits your electric boiler, and completes the wiring and connections.
We test the system, walk you through the controls, and leave your home clean with everything running smoothly.
Cortech Plumbing is based in Tallaght and installs electric boilers across the city and county. Crews cover south Dublin, north Dublin, Swords, and the surrounding postal districts, so an engineer is never far from your door.
Electric boiler installation in Dublin typically costs between €2,000 and €4,000 fully fitted. Boiler size, your electrical supply, and how much pipework carries over move the final figure, so we confirm your exact price in a free written quote after a survey.
Yes. Removal of the old gas unit must be handled by a Registered Gas Installer, who disconnects and caps the gas supply safely. Our RGI registered team manages the full changeover, from taking out the gas boiler to wiring in the new electric one.
Electricity costs more per unit than gas, so running costs are usually higher for the same heat demand. Electric boilers offset part of that gap by converting almost all the electricity they use into heat. Night rate and smart tariffs can trim the bills further in some homes.
Boiler size is measured in kW and depends on your radiator count, insulation, and hot water demand. Undersized units struggle on cold days and oversized units waste money. Our engineers size the unit during the survey rather than guessing from floor area alone.
No. Electric boilers burn nothing, so there is no flue, no carbon monoxide risk from the unit, and no gas safety certificate needed for it. Servicing is still worth keeping up, because checks on pressure, safety features, and controls extend the life of the system.
No SEAI grant covers electric boiler installation. SEAI home energy supports go to heat pumps, which attract grants of up to €12,500, and to heating controls upgrades at €700. Electric boilers sit outside both schemes, so budget for the full cost.
Cold radiators and rising bills rarely fix themselves, and waiting for a full breakdown usually costs more in the end. Cortech Plumbing keeps replacement straightforward, with an honest assessment, a clear written quote, and RGI registered engineers who finish most jobs in a day.
