Registered, insured and trusted across Dublin

Village to M50

Built Decade by Decade

Palmerstown was built in stages rather than all at once. Each estate belongs to its own decade, and the decade decides the pipework, the heating and what tends to fail first.

Same team for a dripping tap or a full boiler replacement. RGI registered, fully insured, over 5 years in Dublin, and a fixed price agreed first.

Common Across Every Estate

Match Parts to Age

Six faults make up most of what we do in Palmerstown. Which decade your house belongs to changes how each one gets fixed.

Leaks Stopped Same Visit

Traced and repaired, whatever decade the pipework dates from.

Heating Back On

Boiler, pump and control faults diagnosed and fixed.

Gas Made Safe First

RGI-registered gas leak detection, made safe, then repaired.

Drains Running Again

Blockages cleared and the older clay runs checked.

Taps and Bathrooms Sorted

Dripping taps, weak showers and full bathroom plumbing.

Serviced Whatever Its Age

Annual boiler service with flue and CO checks.

Say what you are seeing and we will say how soon it needs doing.

Homes Across Dublin 20

Is Your Boiler Due a Replacement?

Knowing the estate tells us the job. These four cover most of Palmerstown, and the pipework in each went in decades apart.

Extensions blur it. Plenty of these houses gained a kitchen or attic room later, and the join between new and original work is where faults usually start.

Manor Road Houses

Built 1955 to 1965, often on original runs.

Palmerstown Estate Homes

Late 1960s builds now on their second system.

Woodfarm and Oakcourt

1970s houses reaching boiler replacement age.

Newer M50-Side Estates

Early 1990s homes with sealed pressurised systems.

Massive thank you to Ben from Cortech who came for an emergency call out to find my wedding ring. Didn’t need any plumbing work thankfully as he found it in about 10 seconds by figuring out what had happened - a very logical approach. Left me feeling silly, but very grateful. Thanks so much!

I had a shower unit locked open with water flowing for a couple of hours and needed a call out. Found Cortech on Google and rang them about 9.30 am on a Friday morning. The service man, a really helpful guy called Ben was here in 40 mins and sorted the problem immediately. He also helped me find a company who had a replacement unit and parts. From my initial call, to job completed ( including help with finding replacement unit ) took 45 mins. The speed and efficiency of the service, plus the really pleasant manner in which I was dealt with was a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend Cortech Plumbing.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I tell what heating system I have?

Look at the wall and the hot press. A combi is a single unit with no cylinder behind it. A system or conventional boiler works with a hot water cylinder, and usually a tank in the attic as well. Send a photo if you are unsure.
Yes. We cover all of Dublin 20, including Palmerstown village, Woodfarm, Oakcourt and the estates by the M50, and we work in Lucan, Chapelizod, Clondalkin and Ballyfermot too. Give us the address and we will confirm it on the call.
Not always. Where the radiators heat evenly and the system is clean, they can stay. Where they are cold at the bottom, rusting, or badly sized for the room, changing them alongside the boiler saves doing the job twice.
Boilers go out of production, and spare parts follow a few years later. Some are still stocked, some take days to source, and some are gone for good. We tell you which of those three you are dealing with before you decide to repair.
Sealed systems run at a set pressure with no attic tank feeding them. Instead of a tank topping the system up, pressure is held in the pipework and shown on a gauge. Most houses built from the 1990s onwards have one.
Two houses on the same street can differ. The incoming main, the age of the pipework and whether a previous owner moved to a pressurised system all change what reaches the tap. Narrow or furred old pipe is the usual culprit.
