Is your oil boiler noisy, using more oil, or refusing to fire? Our RGI-registered Dublin engineers service, repair and replace oil-fired boilers, usually the same week, with a clear quote before any work begins and a 24-hour emergency line.
No obligation. Fixed quote before any work starts.

Every oil boiler service we carry out follows the same thorough checklist, so nothing gets missed. Here is exactly what your RGI-registered engineer does on the day.
Oil boilers usually warn you before they fail. If your boiler is showing any of these signs, our Dublin engineers can repair it fast, often the same week.
The boiler has locked out and won’t start. Common causes are a dirty nozzle, a faulty photocell, an ignition fault or no oil getting through to the burner.
Your boiler fires then stops, or locks out again after a reset. Usually a clogged filter, air in the oil line, or an overheating fault.
Banging, gurgling or kettling sounds usually mean sludge in the system, trapped air or a burner that needs adjusting.
An oil or smoky smell, or a yellow flame instead of blue, points to incomplete combustion or a leak. Turn the boiler off and call an engineer.
Radiators cold or no hot water, even though the boiler seems on? The fault is often the pump, thermostat, a valve or the burner itself.
Using more oil for the same heat usually means the boiler is running inefficiently, often from soot build-up, a worn nozzle or a burner out of tune.

Massive thank you to Ben from Cortech who came for an emergency call out to find my wedding ring. Didn’t need any plumbing work thankfully as he found it in about 10 seconds by figuring out what had happened - a very logical approach. Left me feeling silly, but very grateful. Thanks so much!Posted on Google![]()

I had a shower unit locked open with water flowing for a couple of hours and needed a call out. Found Cortech on Google and rang them about 9.30 am on a Friday morning. The service man, a really helpful guy called Ben was here in 40 mins and sorted the problem immediately. He also helped me find a company who had a replacement unit and parts. From my initial call, to job completed ( including help with finding replacement unit ) took 45 mins. The speed and efficiency of the service, plus the really pleasant manner in which I was dealt with was a breath of fresh air. I would highly recommend Cortech Plumbing.Verified by TrustindexTrustindex verified that these reviews were published on Cortech Plumbing's Google Business Profile. Learn more
Not every oil boiler needs replacing. If the motor and body are sound and the fault is a worn part, a repair is usually the cheaper fix. Most oil boilers last around 15 years, so once yours is past that, or breaking down often, replacement starts to make more sense.
Our RGI-registered engineers assess your boiler, explain what’s wrong in plain terms, and quote for a repair or a replacement so you can decide. If a new boiler is the answer, we supply and fit high-efficiency oil-fired models.
Oil boiler costs depend on the job, the boiler and the access, so here are independent Irish market estimates to help you plan. They are guide figures only and are not Cortech’s prices. Your exact cost is confirmed in a clear quote first.

An oil boiler should be serviced once a year. An annual service keeps it running safely and efficiently, catches small faults before they become breakdowns, and helps it burn less oil. Skipping it risks higher bills, lockouts and, in bad cases, carbon monoxide.
Common signs are rising oil use, banging or gurgling noises, slow or uneven heating, a smell of soot or oil, and the boiler locking out or cutting off. Any of these means it is time to book a service before the fault gets worse.
A standard oil boiler service usually takes between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on the age and condition of the boiler. If the engineer finds a fault that needs a repair or a part, that can add time, and you get a clear price before any extra work.
Not every plumber works on oil boilers, so use a qualified heating engineer with real oil-fired experience. Oil boilers need specific combustion testing and burner work that general plumbers often skip. Cortech’s engineers service and repair oil-fired boilers across Dublin every week.
Yes. A dirty or badly tuned oil boiler burns more oil for the same heat, losing up to around 15 percent efficiency. A service cleans the burner, replaces the nozzle and re-tunes the combustion, so your boiler works harder for less oil and your bills come down.
Landlords should service the oil boiler every year and keep the record as proof the heating is safe and working. Regular servicing protects tenants, cuts breakdown call-outs, and shows the property is properly maintained. Cortech services rental properties across Dublin and leaves a written report.
Whether your oil boiler is due its yearly service, playing up, or ready to be replaced, our RGI-registered Dublin engineers can help. Fill in the form and we will come back with a clear quote, or call the 24-hour line and speak to a heating engineer now. Same-week booking across the city.
